I enjoyed the book 'IT'(as far as mindless fiction that you read at the beach goes) but I thought that the movie was mediocre. Likewise for 'The Stand.'
'Pet Cemetary' would be my vote for his best flick, I enjoyed it even more than Kubrick's 'The Shining.' 'Needful Things' was pretty decent also, IMO.

The Shawshank Redemption for the best movie.
His best book, Salem's Lot (like the movie for this also!).

i had no memory that Shawshank was Stephen King's...it's so uncharacteristic!
