PASADENA - The District Attorney's Office filed charges against a Pasadena man who allegedly lured an Inland Empire woman to his house where she was burned with a caustic chemical hidden in a motorcycle helmet, tied up and raped, police said Thursday.
The 21-year-old victim remains in serious but stable condition at a hospital with second and third degree burns to her face and head.
Piotr Igor Dudkiewicz, 39, was charged Wednesday with torture, aggravated mayhem, false imprisonment, oral copulation of an unconscious person, oral copulation by anesthesia or controlled substance, sodomy of an unconscious victim, sodomy by anesthesia or controlled sustance, two counts of sexual penetration by foreign object, rape of unconscious person and rape by use of drugs.
Lt. Terysa A. Rojas said the woman met the suspect online via social media. The two then met in Los Angeles and the woman agreed to follow the suspect to his Pasadena home, she said.
The suspect allegedly convinced the woman to pose for a picture wearing a motorcycle helmet. She felt a burning sensation after donning the helmet. When she tried to remove the helmet, police said the suspect held the helmet in place until she passed out. Police said the woman woke up later to find the man sexually assaulting her.
The victim managed to call police afterward.
"She was able to make a call from the residence with her cell phone,"

Shortly before 9 a.m., the California Highway Patrol transferred a 9-1-1 call to Pasadena police dispatchers. A distraught woman said she was in Pasadena and had been burned and tied up by a man, The call was then disconnected.
Police aren't sure if the woman was caught on the phone by her alleged assailant.
The phone number led to a residence in the 700 block of North Pasadena Avenue. Officers discovered a damaged door with a small amount of substance that resembled blood. There was no one in the residence but officers got the name of the resident.
Rojas said the suspect had taken the victim and left her in Los Angeles. "Somehow she ended up in a hospital. Somebody picked her up and took her there," Rojas said.
Later that Sunday, Los Angeles Police told Pasadena police that a woman was found suffering from severe chemical burns at a hospital.
Pasadena police sent out information about their suspect to other law enforcement agencies.
Around 8 a.m. Monday, Rojas said La Verne police found Dudkiewicz driving in La Verne, pulled him over and detained him. He was turned over to Pasadena detectives who arrested him.
Online booking records show Dudkiewicz is being held at the Men's Central Jail in Los Angeles in lieu of $1.4 million bail. He has a May 29 court date at Pasadena Superior Court.
Pasadena police are looking for witnesses and individuals who may have had prior contact with Dudkiewicz.

Neighbors of suspect Ariel Castro say they heard a woman scream "Help me! Help me!" and found a woman who identified herself Amanda Berry and had been kidnapped 10 years ago, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. Neighbors say she crawled out—with her daughter—after they kicked out the bottom of the home's aluminum door. After police arrived, they rescued Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight from the home and arrested Castro, 52, at a nearby McDonald's. Police say three brothers have been arrested in the case and the women appear to have been held captive at the home since they disappeared—Berry in 2003 at the age of 16, DeJesus in 2004 aged 14, and Knight in 2002 aged 21, the AP reports. Neighbors say they never saw the women enter or exit the Castro home and had no idea they were in the house. "We never thought that man would do anything to anybody," says a man who has lived in the neighborhood for 25 years. "He was a bus driver."
