Many don't and many do, there's no stats. Certainly if you look at Thailand, while the SRS clinics are very busy, there are far more non-op/pre-op than post-op girls. There they seem to go through a phase of transitioning, being absolutely determined to go all the way as soon as they can, often get into the sex business, fuckfuckfuck...and somewhere in there they change their minds. Partly it's because they get to really like sex as pre-ops, partly because they don't feel they need to prove anything any more, and partly I think it's just maturity and being able to think for themselves.

On the other hand, in Brazil, where SRS was illegal until a few years ago but is now not only legal but available through the state health system, the numbers going post-op seem to be increasing. However, as in so many things in this area, stats are rare beasts.

In the US and Europe stats are known but the transitioning population is somewhat different here, which throws in more complication.

Yes many do, if not in a male role then an ambiguous one. Most girls and tgirls in the sex industry in Thailand only work for a short amount of time before either meeting someone and getting out of the industry, or making enough money to move back to their provinces and start small business (shops, internet cafe, salon, etc.) You don't need much to start a business like that and as living expenses can be so low, they seem to make them work.
