Tranny clubs/scene in London

Hello. I'm planning a trip to London on these dates: March 22 to April 1. I would like to know how is the tranny/transgender scene in London. Are there some clubs/bar I can attend several days that are a point of reunion for shemales/crossdressers/transgenders where you can just stare, talk and then some? Only on weekends or also on regular days like mon/tues/wesd.
What would be a good hotel near those places. I guess the best way to get there is with taxis or to rent a car is a good idea? I never been to London and don't know how safe it would be.
Any information? My only background is USA, specifically Fort Lauderdale at places like Trixies or The Castle Lounge.
