yea ive spent most of my life in the north so it was a bit of a culture shock when i moved south and saw my first confederate flag.ive seen them in text books and various other media of course but never in person.i immediately wanted to leave and retreat back to ny lol

I feel you there. Growing up in Los Angeles in the 80s and 90s, I was lucky to not experience that stuff. To this day I have no real reason to head to the Deep South...not even Charleston, SC and Houston, TX where my parents are from.
