What a ludicrous remark. HIV is not nothing. It means a lifetime regime of drugs, the long term side effects of which are still largely unkown. Just because it no longer automatically leads to an AIDS diagnosis doesn't make it noting. it is still a serious and chronic condition.

There's debate over whether Johnson actually ever did have HIV at all or if he was used as a spokesperson to reach people who thought of it as just being a disease that gay men got.

Either way HIV is still "something" which you'd be aware of if you read up a bit on it.
