In a way, discount is not encouraged if we have done our homework: do the market analysis and research.

However, it's kind of hard to predict the buying power in a new market if we travel around the world.
for instance, here I'm in South Africa and i've just found out that i'm at least 3 times more pricey than the local girls. Phew....it's a challenge to get a new client if you charge triple or even more than others....

this was kind of disturbing to read for a couple of reasons:

1). the luxury buying experience. unless the person has no idea about quality, most people will spend more money due to either the craftsmanship of the product or the value (investment) of the item.

2). when you suggested charging at the upper end. what exactly is being charged at the upper end? is it even worth that price? an example: if you told a newspaper vendor "charge at the upper end" does that make his newspapers better than everyone else's?
