What kinda "punters" you get on Valentine's Day? I remember working the door on Christmas one year. Dude way over age is presenting his ID before he gets 20 feet from me. He says, "Wish me Happy Birthday". I did then turned to my buddy saying, "I give him 20 minutes in there." Heard an awful noise about 18 minutes later and went to investigate. I was back at my post in a couple minutes nodding my head at my buddy.

I'll be at work this year (instead of Cobra)...just like last year. When Valentine's Day falls on the weekend or a day off, I usually call up some girl who is also single, and we just spend the day together...sad or whatever...

I think it's just a commerically manufactured day. I really wouldn't be with someone who thinks it's supposed to be a big deal.

Interesting though, in Japan it's expected that the ladies bring in sweets to the men.

The only time I recall ever doing something 'special' for VD was back in '98, following the bloodbath of my last 'relationship'. A friend of mine and I went down to the range and shot the beejeezus out of some paper people. Since it was primarily for my benefit, I paid for all the brass.

I'm actually considering sending a ping to one of the local gurls to see if she's up for going out to dinner for this one. Mostly because the day is a reasonable excuse for me to come up for air.
