Well actually since people who decide to transition identify as the opposite gender than that which they were born as (biologically) it is actually disrespectful. Using 's/he' is like ignoring their choice to be who they are not what nature forced upon them.

Of course it's a sign of disrespect so much so it's expressly forbidden in Rule 1 of the HA forum rules:
