Yahoo! Messenger public chat rooms discontinuing on Dec. 14th



Resolution
In order to focus on providing great new features for Yahoo! Messenger, we are discontinuing some Messenger services, including our public chat rooms on December 14. We know that some long-term Yahoo! Messenger users still enjoy these topic-based communities, however we feel that by embracing the modern technologies and platforms available today, Yahoo! will uncover better ways to foster meaningful communities and connections with the people you care about.




I've met a few good friends from Yahoo Chat and even had my first TS hookup.

I WON'T miss the mostly socially inept BI guys trying to meet for anonymous shenanigans.

They really were. I met my first TS gf through these chats. Really had a good time in them circa 2002 to about 2004.

the yahoo chatrooms and the aol ones got overrun by bots... and then i guess facebook and craigslist finished them off. the last time i went in a chatroom a few months ago from boredom, it seemed like it was all bots and no actual people...
