OK, forgive my ignorance, but what's the difference between a trap and a tgirl or transvestite? Is "trap" merely more colloquial, or connotatively indicative of intent? Or is there a more substantial difference, even if the term is still casual usage?

"trap" is just a new trendy term that the young kids like to use for a cd/tv that is very fem and can "fool or trap" a guy. Like one guy might say..."hey, its a trap, she's a dude"

it is just like docking essentially being snoodling or fapping being jerking. new word for the same thing.

Don't take this as definitive, but here's what it means to me...a real Trap is a girl still in transition, young, very fem...hormonal tits, no surgeries...in other words, not a full TS woman but definitely not TV/CD...like Domino was a trap, now she's TS, but she was never a TV/CD.

Getting Trapped to me means like a guy who never thought he would go with a TS, but now that he's with her he's so turned on there's no stopping...

yeah, your definition is too personal and wrong. "trap" is not a replacement for transwoman early in transition. "trap" can be considered as pejorative as "shemale" because it definitely relates to sex more so than "transwoman" and it exists as a definition men use to define effeminate men that "pass" as women. some people may like to be labeled as "traps" but I would be willing to bet that the majority of "traps" that are in fact truly transgendered people don't like it. you can define it anyway you want but what remains is the traditional definition accepted by the masses both in the trans-community and lay people at large.
