I used to walk past Madame Arthur on the Rue des Martyrs (Chez Michou is further up on the right) in those 1970s days when there was a street scene higher up the Rue, and around onto the Rue Houdon. While that scene has gone -the low rent rooms have long since been renovated for young professionals in need of somewhere affordable to live in overcrowded Paris- and Madame Arthur closed for a while, it has since been revived.
