Should there be laws for online porn billing companies?
I was just browsing Bangbros.com. I was interested in joining. I clicked the JOIN HERE icon. I was automatically charged without seeing any price or membership options. That's what I call shady business. Thankfully the billing company is giving me a refund. I was told that I was charged because I had used the biller before. Hopefully they will tell the webmasters to change their automatic billing system.
I think this practice and many other practices should be illegal. Some porn sites hide additional charges at the bottom of the billing page. To make matters worst most companies pre-check additional charges. If you are new to online porn then you can easily fall for many traps.
Then there are some billing companies who will illegally charge your account for no reason. I had this problem many years ago when I noticed a strange charge on my bank statement. I called the billing company and asked them what was the charge for. Maybe I had forgotten about this charge. The representative told me that she was not allow to tell me why I was charged and what I was charged for.

Wow! that’s terrible! Never had to deal with such a situation myself, but you’re right, Franklin: if there’s such practices, it should be changed.

How'd they get your credit card info in the first place?

A good post.
There are laws. And there are people who find loopholes in these laws. There are various billing practices, some more nefarious than others. What you experienced was the "one-click upsell" but in my opinion, it's being used somewhat illegitimately. The way is should be used, is that if you accessed your favourite website and from the members area there was an advert for another website or maybe access to some other content, then you would click the "join/buy" button, be given a confirmation "pop-up" - "You will be charged $xx.xx for this purchase) and gain instant access. It's actually a great sales tool where customers don't have to enter all their credit card information again.
The way you claim you were duped, in my opinion, although probably legal - is pretty poor and I wouldn't be surprised to see that loophole close. Surfers expect to click on "join" to see the pricing options. If there wasn't a pop-up or page that said, if you click confirm then you will be charged XXX - then that's the problem.

as soon as they close a loophole someone thinks of a new way to dupe consumers. It makes it very difficult for honest companies who sell quality material.

Virtual Credit Cards prevent most of this type of activity... most of it.
