    what happened to this resource and why? most of the model data is gone, and along with it the comments and links to external sites. It's a shadow of its former self.

    Yeah, looks like an "upgrade" gone horribly wrong. They probably migrated to a new database software, and did so poorly. It could also be different ownership.
