I disagree. I've never heard of an instance of cheating that didn't boil down to a general lack of respect. I don't think it's about confusing love with lust, getting caught up in an opportunity to cheat on a whim, or being too drunk to make the correct decision. All of that just translates to a guy trying to say "I've lost all respect for you and I want out of the relationship, but I can't find a valid reason to leave you; so I made one".
