To me, love is about communication and friendship first, associated with desire and lust. The two latter varies through life; if you have the two former more than with anyone, you’re pretty much in business for the long go. Important to have desire for your partner permanently, of course. But the rest is so crucial.
The first sign, I think, is lost time, like in “extra-terrestrial abductions” … When you spend 10, 15 hours with someone, whatever you do, sex or conversation, and you feel like you’ve spent one or two, you might be pretty close.

Reverse progression.
