Being 1/4 Irish, I appreciate your sentiments, at least. But we Celtic types are pretty thick-skinned and well able to laugh at ourselves. Yes we drink too much (in general), some of us are way too prone to fighting and actually, a good many of the stereotypes have basis in reality. But we laugh at them.

ive always enjoyed my visits to Dublin, and it is a lively place.

(and as a generalisation from my experience) where they love their drink, and a long story and are quick to fight. Even the children and elderly walk around with blackeyes and scratches. In fairness, I originate from Croydon and its a shithole, i prefer Dublin...
