What Musical Theatre number had the biggest impact on you?
Personally I'll go with "You Gotta Get a Gimmick" from Gypsy. Too many adult entertainers fail to realize there will always be someone younger, and prettier.
Plus I wanna do it with a horn...

I’m a child of those wild flower years. I remember watching a few times, on acid, in great delights, some of Fred Astaire’s numbers. It just seemed like he was floating on air…

"Ulysses in Nighttown," starring the great comedic actor Zero Mostel (eg, "The Producers" movie).
I know, kind of obscure. It was a play with musical numbers based on the classic (difficult) Irish novel, Ulysses by James Joyce.
I assume this question is in reference to sexuality.
So I'm in high school and sort of in a theater club, when Broadway was in the dumps (1970s) and theater tickets cost less than movie tickets. We're thinking Zero Mostel, funny kid friendly guy from TV and movies, an adaptation of a classic Irish novel our English teacher would be proud of, etc.
Turns out it was a sliver of the novel in which Leopold Bloom and his friend are wandering around the red light district of Dublin. It gets weirder and weirder until Mostel as Bloom is being whipped by a transvestite prostitute dominatrix in full on leather gear and stockings and whose dick is hanging out of his panties.
We stumbled out of the theater dazed and shocked. But I think it contributed to my fascination with both transgendered and dominatrixes and I fantasized about him/her for a long time.
NB I use "him" because it was clear from the play's context that he wasn't transsexual, but a transvestite.
