998: Lisa Kage

Before there was BlackTgirls there was Lisa Kage. The first black internet tgirl star? Probably. She was one of the first TS models I'd met (therefore, one of the first transsexuals I'd met) on a trip to meet with Tony Vee in NYC in 1999 and we became friends very quickly and maintained a good friendship over the 6 yrs she worked with us. Lisa died in 2006 suddenly. This is the first time I've stated this publically but there were a few of us, who knew Lisa and tried to find further information on her death but were unable to despite having good contacts to be able to do so. I still would not be surprised if she popped up again and had staged her "pornstar" death to move on with her music career - or maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part.
Here is what I wrote at the time of her death:
"” Lisa was a friend of mine since I met her on my first shooting trip to New York in either 1998 or 1999. We became friends immediately and she is one of the few girls I’ve worked with whom I continued to have a fantastic platonic relationship. She was intelligent, fun, witty, sarcastic, educated, well-read, prone to exaggeration, classy, an absolute tease, a born exhibitionist, a terrible drinker, a huge eater, artistic and different in many ways to a majority of the girls I’ve met over the years. She was working in a mainstream job when we first met and was doing the adult film work mainly for the fun of it, as much as the money.
My best memories of her were meeting her for lunch in Queens in 2001 – and she brought a picnic basket including champagne … in the middle of Queens! Tony Vee, Lisa and I took a day trip to Coney Island with Tony in the intention of doing a photoshoot but we ended up just going on the rides (where Lisa of course insisted on showing off)."


Sometimes after a girls death we remove her photos but I decided to leave Lisa's on the sites as a testament to what an awesome girl she was and how much she loved life.

997 - Harley Quinn aka Bailey Jay

I didn't quite know what I had on my hands when Remy delivered the first two sets of Harley Quinn in late summer of 2008. What I did know is that we had an incredibly cute girl who could easily have been a gender girl - and she had a unique look. I immediately put up a couple of teasers of her, not showing the genitals, on this site ... and it went crazy. I didn't realize that she was an internet sensation already but after a few threatening emails ("If you don't tell us if she's a boy of a girl, we'll bring down your site") from 4chan and demanding we post the whole set. A few googles and I saw we could have some fun. So after a few weeks of teasing yes she is, no she isn't, sort of thing, we posted the set to great success.
Bailey shot 14 sets for Shemale Yum and a handful for ShemalePornstar. Personally, and this is not meant to be disrespectful but I believe we have the best scenes of her, in what Remy originally shot, the cos-play stuff and the innocence, playfulness and tease of what she was doing in those shoots. I would have preferred to have seen her continue that a little longer before turning into the beautiful and glamouress woman she now is.

We flew Bailey out for a meeting in 2010 to discuss doing her website but we couldn't agree on it - nevertheless, I really enjoyed meeting her and spending time with her and I've watched brand "Bailey Jay" with interest both as a business from which we've done very well and as a fan. In my opinion she's not a great porn star but she's a great model, a brand and a big personality.
