Damn, Willard!
This will be moved to the political thread; I just placed it here first because I wanted folks who avoid the Politics & Religeon section to take a glance at it.

'If they want more free stuff, tell them to go vote for the other guy.' -Romney.
Wow.
More jobs, better public education and affordable health care is 'free stuff' I guess to Willard.
What I call FREE is when the 1% on Wall Street get a $700 billion bailout, interest free, from the American taxpayer and not one bank executive responsible for selling junk derivative stocks around the world goes to prison.
This economy collapsed from the top, not the bottom.

Re: Damn, Willard!
The initial bailout was $700 billion. The overall bailout may have topped $23 trillion. But it's definitely in the trillions. How much, well, we aren't sure.
It isn't transparent; it's a secret. (If you look at political science theory or what the Founders said, well, the way government is supposed to work is that government is supposed to be completely transparent. We, the citizenry, are supposed to see what they're doing. Except in very rare cases.
And the INDIVIDUAL is supposed to live in a wall of privacy. Unless there's evidence that we're committing a crime, of course.
But we've reversed that.) Anyway, the point is: we don't know the exact amount (most likely, again, in the trillions) that the taxpayers handed over to the banks. It's a secret.
Anyway, what does bailing out banks have to do with capitalism? What does subsidizing the oil sector have to do with a market system?
The thing is: corporate power want big government. For themselves. But not for the average person. Why? It suits their parochial interests. I mean, it's the way of the world.
