Starbucks is gaining popularity in Switzerland, I remember when there was one Starbucks in downtown Zurich and one was just opening at Zurich airport.

I just returned from Zurich and there are now 13 or so Starbucks in downtown Zurich alone which is impressive (as far as I am concerned) considering the SWISS pension for perfection and Starbucks is (IMHO) not exactly perfection.

About 14 years ago I visited China for the first time and there was a Starbucks in the Forbidden City with a huge great long stuck on an otherwise beautiful and unscathed pavilion. Sacrilege. but then there was also a big Macdonalds sign on Tianamen Square - just opposite the famous painting of Mao.
