(NYC) TG Dating scene -- bars? Or just 'clubs'?

Hi all,

I'm a New Yorker, and someone attracted only to transwomen. Haven't dated much, period, but want to finally put myself out there. My question -- is there a there, there? The threads here talk about clubs, sponsored party nights -- is there any kind of scene that's more low-keyed? Trans-friendly gay bars, or queer bars, in Manhattan or Brooklyn?

Also, I'm still hung up on the idea that I'll be treated with [maybe reasonable] suspicion by any mtf suitor -- that they will think I'm just a curious straight guy, which I know in my heart I am not. Is the bar already raised high very, so to speak?

The women admired in this forum seem to embrace a certain high-octane idea of femininity -- are there other types of women and the men who adore them? Something not about escorting and hookups?

Well, in my honest opinion, bars/clubs/parties are never really a good idea. And it most likely depends on what you seek and why. If passability isn't too much of an issue for you, then the clubs/bars can relatively be tasteful, mainly because there you'll spot a TS visually, and take it from there. There are bars like Boots-N-Saddles on Christopher St and 7th ave, or Monster across the avenue. But those are more 'gay' than anything, but TS's (like myself) might just swing in there for a couple beers and keep it moving along. Most TS's will go in there for clientele though.

My advice would be to explore websites (especially if passability is an issue for you) because without a website identifying a girl as TS or not, you'll never know who actually is TS or not. ProveMyself is a decent place to start. Lots of NYC girls on there. I hope this helps
