And according to today's Guardian, Hijra in Pakistan have a new career as tex collectors; while this might be a better trade than what they usually do, the fact that they are being used to shame people into paying their taxes does rather put the Hijra in a negative category morally. But I its a job; and its not a blow-job either.

it's important to seperate religion and culture. e.g. Muslim marrying a christian might be strictly forbidden in say Pakistan but in many African countries (that are islamic countries), it is ok for inter-religion marriage

similarly Hijras are a pan-Indian thing and are actually quite respected (in a funny way) in Pakistani culture - and some are quite glamorous and b'ful. Whereas in India they are definitely looked down up with disgust and they actually usually look quite bad as well.

I thought that in the Koran, marriage is permitted between Muslim men, and Christian and Jewish women. Here is one article that discusses this:

Yoda two links to confirm the legal basis provided by the Qur'an; the second one of which is a story in which the complaint is an unfounded belief a Muslim woman who married a Christian converted to Christianity, becoming an apostate:
