The newspapers in the UK say that this Euro competition will have the lowest number of visiting supporters of England-there has been speculation in the press about hooligans in the Ukraine, while some think Poland is just as bad, although tourism in Poland is in better shape than in the Ukraine. The hostile attitude to LGBT people in Poland and the Ukraine suggets to me that if you want a good time with a ts, in that sense of the word, either take your own, or stay at home; or go somewhere else and watch the games on TV, but I have no personal experience of either the Ukraine or Poland so I cannot offer definitive advice.

After watching Panorama the other night I wouldn't have thought that transsexuals would fare any better than the Asians who were beaten up by the neo-Nazis in the stadium in Ukraine, and quite possibly worse.

The fact that UEFA thought that giving these finals to Ukraine (Poland is not nearly as bad) when ne-Nazi thuggery is so clearly condoned there, is yet another indication that football at the institutional level has absolutely sold its soul.

The footie will be crap unless Spain, Germany or Holland are playing anyway, and England are losing players so fast that I'm half-expecting a call from Roy Hodgson tomorrow - and I'm not even English!

Politically very suspect too, Maddy. The former PM is in jail on what is almost certainly a trumped-up charge and is also on hunger strike because she claims to have been beaten up. The current leader shows rather too much of a likeness to Putin in his methods and it appears that almost all the western/EU governments will boycott the ceremonies held in Ukraine in connection with the tournament.

The fact that fewer than 6,000 English fans have bought tickets whereas the previous tournament in 2008 attracted over 20,000 of them speaks volumes, and add the fact that most of England's black players feel it's safer for their families not to join them because of the risk of racial attacks, and it doesn't look good at all. Congratulations to the tossers at UEFA.

Deffo be problems they base their football culuture on our terraces from the 70/80's and this is a chance to have it with english, germans, and anyone else on home soil with a global audience.

I'd be interested to know how many of our 6,000 are hardcore and how many are scarfers, arent our "top boys" passports took off them?? Feel sorry for anyone who doent really have a clue and taking the missus or kids, even if it doesnt kick off "moody" would not even begin to describe the atmosphere in some places which is never pleasent.
