i love my xbox, consoles are far more sociable gaming friendly than pc .... pc are more hardcore nerdy though i havet o say diable 3 looks ficking mint .

well lets see
1) the intel i5-3570K is significantly faster while barely being any more expensive
2) not that ram costs anything these days but 16gb is really more than games need
3) unless your planning on going for a triple monitor setup more than one graphics card is pretty much a waste of money
4) liquid cooling is mostly a headache in my experience
5) definitely dont skimp on the ssd

Any time I hear gaming brought up around here, it's always about FPSs, sports games, and MMORPGs... mainstream gaming. What about the retro classics and the rest of the gaming genres? Anybody play anything that's not mainstream?

see your point, but plenty of what you may call mainstream FPS (well the older ones) have hardcore gaming communities that are faaaaaaar from mainstream

I play more now than when I was a kid....lol.
PS3,Steam,Origin,my phone,emulators for older systems,and various indie games.
I can't go very long without playing,games inspire me to create art,as does music.

I am playing through Alien: Isolation just now and really enjoying it.........and hating it! Very atmospheric, spend half my game hiding in cupboards (not in the closet before anyone says it!) and is genuinely scaring me. Great fun!
