real NYPD detectives aren't good looking actors from a CSI episode.
if there's enough evidence to suggest foul play, then indictments will follow. wish everything could be wrapped up in a neat little Hollywood drama but real life police work is grueling, time consuming, and sometimes lead to nothing

The fire marshal said the fire was 'suspicious'.
Her 2 visitors were seen arguing outside the building around the time of the fire.
Everybody else in the building, with the exception of Lorena, were rescued.
The NY Times article does not mention her cause of death. Which leaves the possibility that she may have been killed before the fire was set, by one or both of the two men arguing?, and that the fire was set to destroy evidence.

Sounds like foul play to me.

I know I am incredibly late on the topic, but I just found out today that Ms. Lorena Escalera, A.K.A. Lorena Xtravaganza died in a fire back in May of this year. I am shocked! I first saw photos of the beautiful Lorena around a year and a half ago. She was an amazingly beautiful lady and from what I have been reading, was just as beautiful on the inside. My condolences to her family and friends who mourned the tragic death of this sweetheart. I only wish I had gotten the chance to meet her and I DO NOT mean just for sex. I would have loved to have met her. R.I.P. Lorena.
