It's not supposed to hurt! Taking it in the ass is something you have to work up to if you really want to do it. There's inexpensive plugs you can use to train. I've only taken strap-ons, but I still need to be in the right headspace to do it. (Which seems like I am most of the time now anyway, but I digress.)
