Poppers etc - do they work?

I've seen more mention of poppers recently in the reviews. I haven't heard anything positive about poppers from internet searches and wondered if (a) there were side effects best avoided, and (b) are they actually worth taking (i) Do they work/well and (ii) are you likely to sustain damage being topped by a large one as you might if using de-sensitising lube?

Appreciate some feedback on either poppers or lube as I considering going for a big one!

You might want to get into why popper use presents a health risk instead of generally taking an anti-drug stance.

Poppers are amyl and butyl nitrates. They're basically related to laughing gas. Once inhaled, the high lasts about 2 to 4 minutes and it's pretty compatible to oxygen deprivation you'd get off of huffing.

You can build a tolerance to poppers after continued use for a week or two. Overcompensating for that tolerance or sobering up for a few weeks usually leads to consistant headaches.

Popper use usually isn't fatal unless it's mixed with other drugs; particularly erection medications like viagra and the like, as combining them can lead to a very dangerous drop in blood pressure, but if you have heart conditions or high blood pressure, popper use alone can kill you.

Poppers work to dramatically reduce blood pressure, which can in-turn reduce tightness in the anus during intercourse, but they increase the possibility of anal bleeding which can make STDs far more communicable with or without the use of a condom.

In the 80s it was thought there was a connection between poppers and karposi sarcoma and AIDs. I don't think it was proven true, but I always think of them together in my mind. A very ugly and sad connection.

Regardless, poppers are amyl nitrate -- a chemical like GrimFusion says.

i have done poppers a few times ... i dont like it .. makes you get a high sort of feeling for a minute or two and you feel really relaxed .. but then i get terrible headaches for an hour or so after ...

also the smell is rancid its like swimming pools ..

Just buy the anal training kit and train yourself slowly. Wear it a few hours per day and it will help you loosen you up.
