Girls, How awkward is it going back to your hometown?
Well, since i still live in the same little Ohio town (less than 400 people) I grew up in, surrounded by friends and family, it has not been bad. There are two exceptions though.... Firstly. In my particlar case living as a man for 30+ years. in the same small town your bound to have a long history and many deep personal connections with folks in town. Many of which have chosen to discontinue our friendship or has become very publicly awkward. Secondly, although I have the support of my family and close friends. I live in a very conservative area. Which at times puts a severe strain on those relationships. Overall I would say my hometown is far from perfect, but not bad.

What town are you in. My partner is from Salem. I've been back there a few times and folks seemed pretty nutty to a bay area lefty.

Re: Girls, How awkward is it going back to your hometown?
This is interesting, even though I have no personal insight into this topic a friend of mine used to be a cop and one of his long time cop buddies one day surprised him after a few years and it was because he had transitioned. It was crazy! The guy was the exact same person, but the look was completely different. To say the least the cops in the station didn't handle it well, but I feel it is all about the confidence.

I didn't put down real roots in my hometown anyway. I ran away in my early teems. Not many would remember me. I live a few miles from there now actually, and have a mostly stealth existence. Other than the guys I date and my family, no one knows.

Re: Girls, How awkward is it going back to your hometown?
no probs for me , i just moved back home with parents ....while i am saving up for final tweaks of surgeries and my new flat for later in year ..
I moved out of london simply as got busted with my flatmate for escorting together and techincally running a brothel .. so just made sense to leave london now anyway as its a shithole ...
I have had no problems in my town in surrey ..and my ex gf made a big song and dance a few years back when i started transition but noone actually gave a fuck ..

I have not been back to my little hometown of 1,200 people....but I doubt it would go over well.
