US Viagra patent expiration date

I heard Pfizer was to lose it's patent on Viagra March 27 2012, but then I heard I heard it was extended to 2019.
Maybe just in the USA?????
Perhaps with a doctor's prescription I could get it from a reputable pharmacy in Canada.
Does anybody know what's going on?

Just read a brief summarization of Viagra's patent history on Wikipedia... I know... it's a questionable source. But if Wikipedia has the patent issue year correct as 1996, then it would not expire until 2013 at the earliest. But the thing is, big pharma got a law pushed through over 20 years ago extending patents beyond the standard 17 years. Can't remember the details but it's something like 20 years after FDA approval or some other trigger point. That might put it at 2019 but I'm not sure without knowing the law better and knowing the exact development history of Viagra.

Could mean just about anything, from one of it's core US patents that protects it from selling or manufacturing competition, or it could be some patent associated with applying blue paint on the pills which is essentially worthless in warding off the competition.

I have a friend who still refuses to buy anything off the internet because he's paranoid of identity theft. Everyone develops their own level of trust.

Does anybody have a site with Indian Viagra that they have tried and liked?

Pfizer fought off some Israeli Company that tried to get a permit to sell generic sildenafil in the States by opposing them in some Virginia County that's famous for rushing through verdicts.

I've seen Canadian pharmacies that sell 100mg for about $2.50 each, you could probably cut them in half, thats a whole lot better than $15.00 each.
They also sell cialis cheap. Cheapest in volume.
Anybody have one they'd recommend?
