Listen, I heard a story she was trashing Dolly Parton for recording I Will Always Love You, ...She didn't even know Dolly wrote it! And she used to cancel concerts at the last minute. She couldn't be too bright to marry Bobby Brown. But she had a really great voice, a big time voice. Everyone agrees with that, I think.

Ur wrong about the Dolly statement. Kevin Costner told Whitney she should remake Dolly's song for the soundtrack. She knew it was Dolly's, Dolly made millions off Whitney's version. You can see that in interviews back off VH1 and MTV back then!

Whether you liked the film or not Whitneys part as Rachel Marin in the Bodyguard will always live with me. I'm not a softie for a girly flick but could not help weep a little every time I watch that film. Such a beautiful girl with an amazing voice. RIP Whitney x

Agree with Michelle. News last night was talking about how Costner came up with the idea for that song. They were going to use a different one until he got the idea. Dolly was 100% on board. Her version in "best little whore house in Texas" used that song and she was glad it was getting new life.

I prefer my drug music to come from.... Jimi, Janis, etc, etc, etc, but if her music brought joy to millions, she deserves to sing in heaven. I'm waiting for Keith Richards myself.
