Re: Prop 8 in CA
yes...but while i agree 100% with the ruling...all this does is hasten the issue of gay marriage being brought to the supreme court who will likely rule against it

Re: Prop 8 in CA
I predict they will refuse to hear the case.
If they hear it Prop 8 will fall.

Re: Prop 8 in CA
The Supreme Court won't hear California's case, it's not nearly geared to the overarching question of Same-Sex marriage. They will probably look towards another state, if and when it comes up.
The problem with the CA ruling is that it doesn't grant any kind of protection to a class of people that needs to be reviewed at a Federal Level. It's CA specific. All it does is say that the rights that were recognized by the CA Supreme Court can't be taken away by a voter initiative. Whether another attempt by Prop 8 supporters to try and get an Amendment to the State consitution is imminent is another question. It can still be tried, and probably will. But as for the Prop 8 itself, the Supreme Court won't hear it (I'm 95% certain), and this will be the end for Prop 8.
Jus wookin puh nub.
