Dude had been sick and in pain for years. One of the best ever to come out of Chicago. Rest in peace brother.

Growing up in my household we were more for watching Hee-Haw but I do remember Don Cornelius as a nice fella with a great voice. RIP

Yea....I'm suprised this didn't get more play by the young brothas on this board. Maybe they don't know who he is....or maybe they thought we were talking about Don Corloene.

We toss around "icon" quite a bit, but it strikes me that he's one of the few that deserve it. Sorry to hear the dude was in pain.

It has been a minute since Soul Train was a popular show.
But when I was a kid and the club life was years off in the future, I never missed a Saturday episode of Soul Train.

So many great artists appeared that had a lifelong impact on my taste in music. Don opened a lot of minds.
