When Headlines Make You Laugh

So...

Though a couple of the following examples are political in nature (Particularly as the cast of characters is often politicians), this isn't meant to be a political thread.

I've been having a giggle over the recent Philly.com headline:

"Santorum Surges From Behind In Iowa"

If you don't get the humor, Google 'Santorum' for the necessary result.


This is similar to the NY Daily News front page splash of:

"Obama Beats Weiner"


In 1991, the Poughkeepsie Journal announced:

"IBM buys $25M of troubled Wang"



One expects wiseass word play from the likes of the Daily News, but there are times that more staid publications unwittingly (Or intentionally) tweak the news of the day. There is some speculation that the above Santorum quip slipped by a more conservative editor much to the delight of its prankster author.
