Excet that if you go back and read Yoite's last post agin, you will see that the intent was not to promote herself--she went to these events supporting other girls, and purposefully downplayed herslef so as not to draw any attention away from the girls who were there for a purpose. That, and she also just wanted to meet Steven and say hi. She even eludes to the fact that if she knew she was being judged for future work she'd have done things differently.

If this is true then she is incredibly naive about how the world works. Nobody would go to an interview in jeans and a t-shirt, and if your career involves networking (especially in a social, or evening capacity) then it's just as important to meet certain expectations.

If you want to be a model, then people expect you to be fashionable and attractive. I can understand dressing down for the NY party, but there is no excuse for the LA industry event. Sorry.

Dressing to impress isn't as important when you have an established relationship with the party you are seeking employment with. If you previously delivered quality work then there should be a reasonable expectation that you will do so again.

Obviously, the real reason he did not consider her had nothing to do with how she was dressed - their business involves being undressed. But if you believe what he wrote here then maybe you're the naive one. However, that's between she and him to figure out.

I said that it's important to meet 'certain expectations'. You're the one who summed that up with dress-to-impress.

IMO she did not help herself by dressing down to go to a porn industry awards event. It is not a very business savvy thing to do if you want build up a name for yourself.
