I suspect in the example given it appears as "Business Entertainment Expense" which would also cover things like taking a client out to dinner, a ball game, etc.

As far as whether escorts pay taxes goes, the safest way would be to report all income, even cash payments. That way you're covered against the excesses of an IRS investigation. With the situation the government is in right now, the IRS folks are probably under a lot of pressure to find all the tax revenue they can. The small business owner who doesn't report cash payments may regret that in the long run, because when he gets caught it won't be pretty. The word Draconian comes to mind with interest and penalties for tax evasion.

I can't speak from the escorting side (not my cup of tea), but when I worked as a Senior Accountant for a small business, I had to guide them through two state audits and one Federal audit. Half a dozen a day? I've never met a human being with that kind of stamina... I see three or four clients a week on a busy week... I turn down a lot of business cause working long hours defeats the whole purpose of "easy money".
