With girls that are perfect 10s, like Sunshyne Monroe, Jennifer Paris, Alexandra Bittencourt, Amy Daly, Hazel Tucker.. and so forth is this our generations Golden age of Transsexuals? Will the future propel trannys in mainstream? or has this started with Yasmin Lee the this summers Hangover 2?? Discuss among yourselfs..
Keep it simple!

No the golden age is when it will be widely accepted on a nationwide level. And when that will happen, I have kno clue.

Re: Are we living the golden age of transexuals?
As many hot passable TGs as there are, we are nowhere near the Golden Age of TGs. Like Silcc69 said TGs need to be accepted in the mainstream where girls can have a career like any other person & not have to resort to porn & escorting to lead their lives. Then, I would say we're in the ballpark.

If this is the golden age, I weep for them.

wait, Yamin Lee did a full frontal on a major film, that is not huge. And by golden age I meant more on the looks department. Its hard for most girls to look closley to Jennifer Paris, Allanah Star and Sunshyne Monroe. Lets face its, your local escort from backpages is a 7-8 tops!! So we might not be lving in the golden age??

From a sociologist view, it's just natural forces. You have greater acceptance, as the the idea spreads through public consciouness. The appointment of a transexual, to a position, by the Obama adminstration is one symbolic example. However, with greater acceptance their is also a force for resistance to change. The resistance often sees themselves as an embattled minority, seeking to defend the species from destruction, etc. If you look behind the resistance, they are often using it as a source of power. It's the classic example of scapegoating, for many of them.
It seems to me, that the most important, acceptance for society is parents, accepting their transgender children, no matter what age. One major factor, is all parents do ot want to see their children on a path where society will give them a rough time. So this then circles back to the perception of greater acceptance or not is a self fulfilling prophecy.

Re: Are we living the golden age of transexuals?
For Porn -- probably.
For Real -- not yet.
We are getting there. I think this is like the 70s were for the gay community, a period where TS have undeniably entered mainstream awareness, but not at all receiving mainstream acceptance.
People are coming out more and more and at younger ages. It is no where near as unheard of as in the past and society is being forced to deal with transsexualism.
Conservative and traditionally religious society still feels free to indulge their prejudices against transgendered people, but they are always the last to change. When todays teens reach their middle years (15 to 20 years) then maybe.

Re: Are we living the golden age of transexuals?
When the majority of TGs aren't regarded as gay men in drag, then we as a society will have crossed an important threshold.
IMO it's because most people don't know any TGs in real life. Real trans-women beyond the physical, have this whole vibe that's 'feminine','female', and not 'effeminate' like a stereotypical gay man.
Once you come to understand this person is more woman than anything else, IMO it will be easier for random straight guys into TGs to be out about their affections.
Again, I'd rather be living in 2011 into TGs than 1971.
I've said before if this was forty years ago, I wouldn't be into tgirls because very few REAL trans-women even existed, and CD/DQs just don't come close to doing it for me.

We haven't even scratched the surface yet. This plane is still trying to make it off the ground while its still attempting to figure out the framework.
Life is short. Just enjoy it.
