Default Name some good music from Brazil w/ femal vocals please

I love Brazilian music. I think the style I like is called Samba, but I dont really know for sure. I have an album from Paula Morenelbaum that I have played a million times, and I want more. I used to have some mixes from a Drum and Bass DJ named Marky, who is from Brazil, and he mixed in music from his home country w/ mainstream DnB and it was hot jams.

Move to Brazil for the music, food, and T-girls!

Paula Morelembaum is more into Brazilian bossa nova style, but is quite good. Marisa Monte is also superb, as she mixes modern and old composers in a fine combination with contemporary arrangements.

There are many female voices, as the so called MPB (in a free translation, Popular Music of Brazil) is fitted for the female singer: Gal Costa, Bebel Gilberto, Marisa Monte, Maria Rita (daughter of the deceased 70´s icon, Elis Regina), Maria Betania and many more. In the modern samba, Mart´nalia is also quite good.

    regards
