That's the thing about Minas Gerais. You don't have to spend an arm and a leg to stay in a four-five star hotel or meet a nice lady as opposed to Rio or SP.

Visit Belo Horizonte (BH) and Ouro Preto. Go to Kayak and looks for hotels in BH. I would not stay in the centro - i.e. downtown though.
