I am going to assume that your claim for algebra, physics and other science goes to Greek/Roman cultures. Their lasting impact on "history" is immense but also very troubling.

Every time they could, they pillaged great centers of (foreign) knowledge, took what they wanted, burned the rest, and claimed everything of value as their own. Check it: how many libraries burned while the cities in which they stood were being named "Alexandria"? And Alex. was only one of many.

History is written by the victors, but that doesn't make it true.

Funny, and maybe that's all that they have left, but you're confusing opportunity with ability. We're a product of our environments; they shape our personalities and cultures.

Australia was, and is, largely inhospitable. No chance to build a surplus of food leading to a surplus of people leading to a focus on cultural advancement- city centers, temples, etc.

Isolated from trade for so many years, both material and cultural, aborigines did not have the benefit of exchange that led to most of the gains of civilization.

Imagine if the societies that invented agriculture, or metallurgy, or animal husbandry (all middle eastern, by the way) were still the only societies that still had them? Where would that leave the rest of us?

Put the indigenous in "modern" society and they function as well as anyone else. There are many well documented examples of this from South America, the Pacific islands and even Australia. It's so true as to be unremarkable these days- only the racists still marvel when it happens.

We gain by sharing knowledge. Racism, xenophobia and hatred take us nowhere.
