flirt4free wants my photo ID

I asked this on the tail end of another thread so I'll try again in a thread of its own.

Has anyone had flirt4free.com ask for their photo ID before aceepting your cc? I've never encountered this in any sort of web transaction that required payment until now. Sending my photo ID off into the net seems a bit risky but if it's the new standard behavior for adult sites to verify the age of their users this way I guess I'll do it. Either way it might be worth it just to watch Mint stroke her third leg. OTOH, maybe a trip to BKK would be cheaper in the long run...
