Daivid Wu Resigns

Rep. David Wu (D-Oregon) announced this week that he will resign from Congress, post-debt ceiling vote, after an allegation that he had an unwanted sexual encounter with his friend's 18-year-old daughter.



According to The Oregonian, which broke the news of the scandal last week, Wu was visiting his friend and political donor in Orange County last Thanksgiving when the incident took place. The newspaper reported that the woman, whose name has not been published, left a distraught voicemail message at the lawmaker's Portland office in the spring, accusing him of "aggressive and unwanted sexual behavior." When confronted by his senior aides, Wu acknowledged a sexual encounter, but insisted it was consensual, according to the report.

The young woman is being represented by OC attorney David Swanson. He told The Oregonian that the family is "not interested" in speaking with the press.



Boxed in by a pending ethics investigation, Wu announced his resignation on Tuesday. In a statement, he wrote, "The wellbeing of my children must come before anything else. With great sadness, I therefore intend to resign effective upon the resolution of the debt-ceiling crisis. This is the right decision for my family, the institution of the House, and my colleagues."

What BlueGrassCat is trying to say ( and I might be wrong) is that it's become uneventful, mundane if you will to hear of a lib politician with a perversion ! LMAO.....There's a double standard ...it's cool I can deal with it. In fact I thrive on pointing it out. The point is , obviously famous HA libs( no need to go thru the list...you know them) have little in common with the likes of Mr. Wu....or Mr. Weiner, but it's fun to make the case ! Just like it's fun for them to make the case the Tea Party are racist terrorists. It's what they do. It's as comfortable to them as a hammer is in the hands of a carpenter.
So by all means....make the case, but don't expect a long thread about Mr. Wu. LOL
Hypocrisy is in their DNA. I watched the 3 stooges ( Reid, Schummer, Durbin) last night actually stand at the podium and implore the House to get something done. Given the fact the House has struggled and toiled and sent 2 bills ( like them or not) to the do nothing Senate who has not passed a bill in months, or submitted a budget in 2 1/2 years ( that's unimaginable) it was like an outer body experience watching these old fools. But I digress. Let's keep this thread on the Asian Tiger, Mr. Wu !!
