The size doesn't matter. Each dot and line, and how far apart each one is, are all part of the data. The pic of you is hidding some of that data, and the smart phone scanner can not see what is behind your pic.

And the data should all be black for the phone's scanner device to see it clearly. If any of the data are light in color or shading, the scanner may not see it. And pink is a very light color.

Didn't work on Barcode Scanner v3.53 on my Android smartphone either. Willie's tag worked fine though ...
