It is illegal to discriminate against Transgenders in employment in Nevada now, I am proud to say. Don't know if the law took effect yet, but I read in the Las Vegas paper it was passed a month or so back.

simply put escorting is miles ahead of porn interm of money to be made ..that is why so many TS models escort as well..

as to legal rights , well that is subjective on what country you are from ,, in UK and some of EU escorting is legal and carries same rights as any other self employed worker..

As to safety of seeing clients etc , most escorts i know only do incalls so the client comes to them, and most girls i know dont live alone anyway ...safety in numbers etc.

Pornstars are not required to have STD tests as in its not enforced 100% unless hardcore/bareback scenes (and that is usually down to model. if your shooting a hardcore scene and its condom only some companies wont really be bothered) ..then if you have a model that only does Solo as many do they dont need a test for that ..though most TS models in usa/uk have tests monthly .. That's a great post Liberty, and it's obvious that the jurisdiction in which you operate, the UK being relatively liberal, allows girls to earn reasonable money in comparative safety when escorting. Pity it isn't like that elsewhere.

However, my experience chimes pretty much with Ineeda's. Quite a lot of the tgirls I know are in fact living ordinary lives, happy in varying degrees with their sexual and social identity and in rewarding careers as well; that's what led me to this part of the scene in the first place.

I've also, in my previous working life, had responsibility for hiring and hiring policy, which comes with the legal and moral obligation to recruit purely on ability. That already makes it illegal, in the UK,0 to discriminate on the grounds of gender, race, religion, marital status, sexual orientation, and, at long last, age. So I've hired gay and transgender people in the past because they were the best qualified for the role - if they're brave enough to put themselves through what they have to to secure their full sexual identity, then it's up to the workplace to accommodate them. OK, that's mostly been in well-paid, educated environments, but the principle should be the same anywhere.

What opened my eyes was recruiting in places like Singapore, Thailand and the Philippines, where it wasn't legislative, employers were just gender blind and recruited on abilty.

But would you honestly consider going back into the neanderthal bearpit that is the finance sector in the City of London, regardless of your porn background?
