I totally agree with the idea that "passability" is difficult to judge without meeting someone in person. I come off OK in video and pictures, but I am consistently gendered as a woman in my daily life.

I think that the more transpeople are accepted the less people will worry about being read, and not passing doesn't make a person any less of a woman
