Me personally, Im a breeder. I have a kid and want more. I don't believe it is always putting your life at risk. That seems to be a bit of hyperbole people like to hide behind. There are ways to be safe doing anything. I don't cheat or pay for sex or "perform bareback". For me its something that takes place within the confines of a honest trusting relationship. People like to be fear mongers sometimes and scare people but the best thing to do is educate people on the risk/reward tradeoff and let them decide.

In a close, trusting relationship yes I think it's ok, that said there are risks because ANYONE can be unfaithful. I am currently in a relationship with a GG going on 3 years now, she is on the pill and we do have unprotected sex, but all in all I trust her. I dated a TS girl for a while before my current relationship and at first always used protection, but once we got closer and we had both been tested we had unprotected sex. Again, while it is risky to some degree, if you're in a trusting relationship it should be ok. HIV does not appear out of thin air. Keep in mind though bottoms (women, men, trans whatever) are at a significantly higher risk. Oh and please, USE lube, it greatly reduces risk.

That said even though I am in a trusting relationship and do not cheat, I still get tested once a year. We have a great clinic here that does rapid tests, only takes 15 minutes, it is good for piece of mind.

Again, I think this is a personal decision that everyone must make, but if you are having casual sex, I would strongly suggest using protection always, especially for penetration.

If I'm with a guy that I know and can trust to be clean, then yes, it's worth it. For just a casual encounter or with a guy that I can't trust to be clean, it's no rubber = no play.
