bin Laden being dead will do wonders for Obama re-election. His major selling point will be that it was under his watch that bin Laden was killed. Not Clinton and not Bush, but Obama.

If it's true, it changes nothing.
OBL was a figurehead. Al Qaeda doesn't conform to any recognisable ethos or organisational structure. It will carry on pretty much as before on a fragmented cell basis.
