Therer has been very few good rock/metal songs that were on top of the german charts or sold very well

The Market for Music here is much smaller than in the US, so here Gold(for singles)=150000 units,platin=300000 units

Artists like Beatles,,Michael jackson,Billy Idol,Eric Clapton,Stevie Wonder,Rick James David Bowie,The Police,Kool & the Gang,Diana Ross,the Manhattans....had great sucess.

compare them to todays artists like Lady Gaga,Rihanna,Britney Spears,Backstreet Boys.

Can somebody imagine if today a pop artist would have a guitar solo like in the song Beat it(Michael Jackson)?


In these days Good muscic played from the heart is mostly not in the charts.
