Default Scientology, why has Farrakhan embraced it?

I heard that the controversial black muslim Louis Farrakhan, leader of the Nation of Islam has embraced scientology and incorporated their dianetics program in the NOIs teachings. Farrakhan also gave praises to Ron Hubbard, the controversial Scientology founder. He and another black leader Al Sharpton were invited to a scientology gathering.

I dont get this. Could the answer be that Farrakhan is trying to re innvent himself in a post Obama America? Remember the president refused to accept Farrakhan's endorsement and support during the election campaign, and accused him of being 'racially divisive'.

But why join with the controversial scientologists which has been likened to a cult? Ron Hubbard was originally a science fiction author, who decided to create his own religion, which attracted a lot in hollywood. Not surprising since self promotion is a common feature in that industry. Also the founder has been accused of having racist views on blacks. The Nation of islam is supposed to be a militant and independent pro black movement. Are their members ok with that and dont see it as a contradiction or sell out?

Scientologists have been allowed to sell their books and merchandise at their major rallies. Arent they concerned with being associated with a group which once viewed whites as 'devils' because of their treatment of blacks in America? Or are cults not bothered, its about getting in the numbers and making money of them?

Muslims acknowledge the two other monotheisms -Judaism and Christianity as valid precursors of Islam, but there are no sequels, no other prophets after Muhammad, so Farrakhan is just being provocative, the last resort of someone with nothing to say. He has form, after all -'Black Muslim' is a contradiction in terms: one is either a Muslim or one is not, hence the rift with Malcom X after his personal Hajj.

What a total crock of shit. There's no reference at all to Scientology in that sermon. Just more paranoid innuendo from the spiritually insecure.

He praised Scientology and its founder, L. Ron Hubbard. Farrakhan extolled the virtues of Scientology and its auditing process, which is considered spiritual counseling by its members.

"L. Ron Hubbard is so exceedingly valuable to every Caucasian person on this Earth," Farrakhan said.

"L. Ron Hubbard himself was and is trying to civilize white people and make them better human beings and take away from them their reactive minds. … Mr. Hubbard recognized that his people have to be civilized," Farrakhan said to a cheering crowd.
