The House of Evisu would like to thank you all for your condolences, prayers and positive thoughts. On this eve of this great loss of Legendary Founder Arbert Latex- EVISU, we realize that the loss experienced by our family is just not ours but a greater loss for the community. As we know and can agree to, men like Arbert Santanna (EVISU) are rare finds. Arbert for many of us was a mentor, an advocate, a hero, a supporter, a parental figure, a guide and a sounding board. He was the embodiment of unity, inclusion, loyalty, wisdom and fairness within one soul. The legacy that he has left behind reaches far beyond the Ballroom Scene and his creation of the House of EVISU but extends to the entire GLBT community from issues of HIV/AIDS, tolerance, violence and a host of other causes he championed. The spirit of Arbert Santanna (EVISU) lives on in each of us: those who have the name EVISU (past, current and futre) and those whom have crossed his path. On this day we ask not only prayer for Arbert’s partner, his biological family, his Evisu family, and his gay family but also for the community. When a strong soldier has passed who will take up his sword to continue his battles?

We as a house is committed to ensuring that the morals, values and ethics in which Arbert founded our House upon are unfaltering. The legacy that he worked tirelessly to create is still relevant. The spirit of humbleness, loyalty, unity and family is a yet active within our House and it is our goal to mirror these values within the community at large. Rest in Peace Legendary Founder Arbert EVISU your dream lives on…
